Shawl Knitting Workshop

Shawl Knitting Workshop

When: Sunday, April 28, 1 - 4 pm

Ready to try knitting something that’s not a rectangle? Get started in the exciting world of shawl knitting with this introductory shawl class. I’ll walk you through getting started, shaping, and simple lace knitting. You’ll leave ready to finish your first shawl and tackle several more.

Please note you need to be comfortable working with knit and purl prior to taking this class.

Learn the following skills:

  • How to start with the garter tab cast on

  • How to shape with various increases and decreases

  • How to work a lace pattern

  • How to relax and “design as you go” through any perceived errors in counting

As always, bring your questions and have fun learning and stitching with others in our low key friendly workshop environment.

We suggest the Sunlight Shawl for Sad People by Sylvia McFadden, Reyna by Noora Backlund or Grain by Tin Can Knits depending on your taste for knitting adventure. If you have your eye on a particular pattern, stop by or email me at the shop and I’ll let you know if it’s a good starter pattern.

Price includes 3 hours of knitting instruction. Please arrive early to allow time to select yarn and any needles, and wind yarn cake(s). Receive 10% off your purchases for class.
