We keep our workshop size small so you get lots of attention and time from the instructor. Many are as small as six (beginner sewing & knitting), and the absolute largest class is 15 students. Our workshops are mostly project based so you can create something to take home.
Most classes are for age 16 and over, unless specified in the description. Please contact us if you have questions.
Every workshop includes instruction by an experienced maker and many include materials as well, so you do not need to spend time trying to find supplies or figure out what they are. Any workshop that does not include supplies is clearly marked and we offer a discount on supply purchases for those workshops in our shop. Generally supply purchases are $30- $60. We supply all tools, and only ask that you separately purchase fabric, yarn, and sometimes a pattern.
We also offer private lessons for $40 per hour in some of our crafts (primarily knitting and sewing) if you prefer to work on a very specific project, or want one-on-one time. Contact us for details and scheduling. We generally schedule these sessions on weekdays.
Beginner Knitting
Beginner Knitting
When: March 2, 11 am - 2 pm
Take the plunge into knitting (or relearning knitting) with this simple, relaxing workshop. Learn to cast on, knit, purl, and bind-off. You’ll leave ready to tackle a simple washcloth, fingerless mitt, or scarf project. You'll have hands-on instruction, time to practice your skills in class, and ask tons of questions. Test out our needles while you're here and then buy a pair to take home once you’ve learned a bit.
What You Will Learn: How to cast on, bind-off, knit, and purl. We’ll talk about yarn, needles, what all the labels mean, how to make sense of it all, and more. We try to tailor our time and focus on the things each student actually wants/needs to focus on during class.
Price/Materials: Price includes three hours of instruction during class, project guidance, plus a bonus drop-in session for follow-up questions. We have lots of fun yarn and can help you choose the right needles and other tools at the shop. Plus students get 10% off purchases for class. If you’ve tried knitting in the past and have some yarn or tools already, feel free to bring supplies with you. Otherwise, save your time and money and learn what tools you actually need before stocking up.
Registration and Payment: All workshops and classes must be registered for and paid for in advance of the sessions.
Cancellation Policy: We do not offer refunds for missed classes. This is because we purchase and prepare materials, hire instructors, and put effort into making the class happen once you register. If you cannot attend a workshop after registering, you are welcome to transfer your spot to a friend. Otherwise, please notify the studio within 72 hours of the event start to receive studio credit for an alternative workshop.
If the studio cancels a workshop you will be offered a full refund or studio credit, your choice.
