When: Sunday, February 17, 12 - 4 pm
Looking to expand your knitting skills now that you’ve mastered knitting and purling? Come learn how to knit your first pair of socks. Learn how to cast on and work with the magic loop method (knitting in the round with extra long cable needles instead of double pointed needles). We’ll discuss the anatomy of a sock, and cover the cast on, working the cuff, leg, heel flap, heel turn, gusset, foot, and toe. And of course we’ll explain what all those terms mean.
In the workshop, you’ll work through an entire baby/toddler size sock so you can see (and do ) each step of the sock knitting.
Please note: This is not a learn to knit class. You must know how and be comfortable with knitting, purling, increasing and decreasing. You do not need to feel like at expert at these or have each method memorized.
Materials: The workshop includes pattern and instruction, but does not include supplies (yarn & needles should total $30 or less). Students receive a 10% discount on all supplies on the day of the workshop. Please arrive 15 minutes early to make any purchases, or stop by in advance and let us know you’re enrolled in the workshop.
