Learn to use a sewing machine and make your own tote bag with local handmade bag designer and creator, Liz Sabo on Sunday, July 29, 2 - 4 pm.
This workshop is designed for those of you who have been wanting to sew but need help getting started. If you have a sewing machine tucked away, now’s the time to dust it off! There are also some sewing machines available for those who do not have their own. During the class Liz will take you through the basics of working with a sewing machine, including how to thread the machine and needle and install the bobbin. You’ll practice simple stitching using scrap fabric so you can practice as much as you’d like! You'll talk about common sewing problems and how to work through them. Then you'll practice your new skills by sewing a simple, cotton tote. This workshop is also a great refresher class if you're getting back to sewing after a long break.
What You’ll Learn: sewing machine basics and how to sew a tote bag
